Seasonal hair loss is real. Hair loss is a natural and a needed phenomenon of our body. Hair has to fall out, so that there is place for new healthy hair to grow. It is completely normal for 50-100 hairs to detach from the scalp daily.

Reasons for seasonal hair loss:

  • Being mammals we naturally shed hair, especially in winter, when a lack of sunlight can lead to hair falling out in clumps.
  • Men buck this trend a little though, losing more hair in summer than winter owing to the fact that their scalps sweat more.
  • Harsh weather conditions in general cause hair loss. Extreme summers and winters can both result in excessively dry hair. Split ends, dandruff, constant tying up of hair are a few reasons your hair condition could change with the seasons, causing hair loss.
  • Lastly, there is nothing whatsoever to be gained from stressing about hair loss. Stress is the worst cause of all and hair loss from stress only becomes apparent two or three months after the fact.
